This Privacy Policy explains how Chalkboard Technology LLC ("we," "us," or "our"), the company behind WrenchBase (the "Service," available at usewrenchbase.com), collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Service. By using WrenchBase, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Who this policy covers

WrenchBase is a business tool. Our direct customers are the businesses that create an account (each, a "Company"), and the individual users those businesses invite (owners, admins, members, and viewers). This policy applies to all of them, as well as to visitors of our marketing website.

2. Information we collect

Information you provide

• Account information — your name, email address, and a password (stored only in hashed form by our authentication provider). When you create or join a Company, we associate your account with that Company and a role.
• Company information — the company name and any details an owner enters, plus the invite codes used to add team members.
• Content you create in the app — equipment records, maintenance logs, issues, categories, bulletin-board announcements, and the names, emails, and roles of team members you invite.
• Communications — information you send us when you contact support.

Payment information

Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not collect or store your full payment card details — Stripe does, under its own security and privacy terms. We store limited billing information such as your Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, plan, and subscription status.

Usage, device, and log data

To operate, secure, and improve the Service, we and our providers automatically collect:

• Usage and analytics data — actions taken in the app (for example, adding equipment, logging maintenance, or reporting an issue), which features are used, and the date and frequency of logins and activity. We use this in aggregate and at the account level to understand engagement, support customers, and prioritize improvements.
• Device and log data — IP address, browser and device type, and timestamps, recorded as part of normal operation and security.
• Error and diagnostic data — when something goes wrong, our error-tracking provider (Sentry) records technical details about the error, which may include your account identifier, to help us fix it.

Cookies and local storage

We use browser local storage to keep you signed in and to make the app work. These are essential to the Service. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. If we add a privacy-friendly analytics tool in the future, we will update this policy.

3. How we use information

• To provide, maintain, and operate the Service for you and your Company.
• To process subscriptions, billing, and trials through Stripe.
• To provide customer support and respond to your requests.
• To monitor, secure, and troubleshoot the Service and prevent abuse.
• To understand how the Service is used and to improve and develop features.
• To send you service-related messages (for example, account, security, or billing notices).

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for third-party advertising.

4. Service providers we share data with

We share information only with the providers we rely on to run WrenchBase. Each processes data on our behalf under its own terms:

We may also disclose information if required by law, to enforce our agreements, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users or the public. If we are ever involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

5. Data within your Company

WrenchBase is a shared workspace. Information you enter — including your name, email, role, and the activity you log — is visible to other authorized members of your Company according to their role and permissions. Company owners and admins can manage team members and may remove a user's access.

6. How we protect information

We use industry-standard safeguards, including encryption of data in transit and database-level access controls (row-level security) designed to keep each Company's data separated from others'. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and limit access to it.

7. Data retention

We retain account and Company information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service. When an account or Company is deleted, we delete or anonymize the associated data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain certain records (for example, billing records) to comply with legal obligations.

8. Your rights and choices

You may access and update much of your information directly in the app. You may also contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, or to ask a question about your data. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) or the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including the right to know, delete, or port your data, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. To make a request, email us at the address below. Note that some information is controlled by your Company; in those cases we may direct your request to the Company.

9. Children's privacy

WrenchBase is a business tool intended for users aged 18 and over. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.

10. International users

We operate in the United States, and information is processed and stored there. If you access the Service from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above, and significant changes may be communicated through the Service. Your continued use of WrenchBase after an update means you accept the revised policy.
